Our Community...
We have adopted business practices that support our local community, the holiday resort industry and care for our staff.
What we are doing:
Because we live here, the Waihi Beach community is important to us. Our business provides sponsorship for area events, the local school and other volunteer groups.
We give back to the tourism industry through business mentoring and active participation in the holiday resort sector.
We look after our staff and do our best to ensure that they have a great work / life balance.
We are involved in the following ways:
- Ian is Chief Fire Officer of Waihi Beach Fire Brigade and is involved in training and management.
- In 2007 we purchased $5000 of computers for Waihi Beach School and donated trophies for annual presentation. We also hosted pupils of the school in the resort for local school-related activities and provide support at meetings to discuss issues.
- Provided prizes to Waihi Surf Club for their promotions and to Waihi Beach Primary School - to use for fundraising
- Allow Waihi Swimming Club use of resort pool for one day per year.
- In 2007 we extended an invitation to the community to the opening of our pool complex at which the Prime Minister attended and complimentary refreshments were available.
- Ian and Vicki spend hours of their time mentoring within the holiday resort sector plus addressing tourism gatherings or reviewing material relating to industry partners.
What you can do:
- Make a donation to the Waihi Beach Surf Club or Volunteer Fire Brigade at reception.
